About Course

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a system for defining and communicating engineering tolerances. It uses a symbolic language on engineering drawings. Understanding these concepts will reduce the cost of production as it will lower the rejection of components which are functional. This course covers the fundamental elements of GD&T, symbols, and explains its significance. Precision measurement devices are discussed briefly.

Representing GD&T in a CAD software ( Autodesk Fusion 360) has also been demonstrated.

If you are a student keen of learning GD&T from scratch, this course is for you.

What Will You Learn?

  • Learn the importance of GD&T and start understanding its representation in drawings. Datums and material modifiers are explained in detailed. Learn the symbols associated with form, orientation and location and the way to calculate bonus tolerances. This course will make you acquainted with different machines used for measuring tolerances. You will be shown the representation for GD&T in Fusion 360.
